Jagalchi Market

Because I didn't start this blog until a few weeks into our Korean adventure, I have yet to blog about all of the amazing memories from our first two weeks in Busan, South Korea.  As this blog serves as a written history of our family's adventures, it's important that I backtrack a bit and do some posts from our first two weeks here.  Enjoy!

We hopped on the subway and navigated our way towards Jagalchi Market, the largest seafood market in Korea, which is on the other side of Busan from where we live.  We knew this place was something we had to see and couldn't miss!  If you're up for it, you can even pick out your seafood, pay for it, and then it's sent upstairs where you are led to a table where someone will cook your fresh seafood right then and there.  We didn't do that (not shocking if you know that we don't really like seafood), but we did have a blast exploring.  Some of the vendors were kind enough to pull something out of their tanks for the boys to see up close, and that was pretty cool!

On our walk there after exiting the subway:

We finally arrived at Jagalchi Market!

Looks like as good a place to take a nap as any, I guess.
Seeing all these adjumas decked out in their galoshes, slickers, and other clothes they didn't mind getting dirty and wet was pretty cute.

This squid literally jumped out of the tank!

Time to clean those dirty little hands!

We went out the back of the market where it backs up against the harbor...

Connar had fun chasing the birds!

It's gorgeous out here, right?!  It was a beautiful day of weather, so that didn't hurt either.

Time to walk back to the subway and head home...

If you're ever in Busan, Jagalchi Market is a must!  The smell isn't the greatest  :)  , but you'll never see anything like it elsewhere.
